Skills Assessment
The skills assessment sheet, word for word. The check-off list comes first, then the grading rubric, then each skill in the order it appears on the sheet.
Grading rubric
A score of 3 is a result of the tasks being performed independently, smoothly, and efficiently, without hesitation. Student's skill is at or above acceptable level to meet standards of aseptic technique and patient safety. All sharps are handled in a safe manner.
A score of 2 is the result of the tasks being performed with hesitation or the need for prompting, but still meeting the standards of aseptic technique/patient & sharps safety. If contamination occurred, it was corrected appropriately.
A score of 1 is the result of the tasks below being performed below acceptable level to meet the standards of aseptic technique/patient & sharps safety, with or without hesitation. More practice is needed.
Students must achieve a 2 or higher to proceed in the program.
